How do I report a bug?
chatters can use the ^bug command in chat, or by clicking "report a bug" on your Dashboard page. You can also join the Bacons Helper Discord server and post in the "report-bug" channel
How do I get Bacons Helper in my Twitch chat?
You can head to https://twitch.tv/bacons_helper and type ^addbot in chat to submit a request for Bacons Helper for your self or submit for a separate channel by adding there name with the ^addbot command (you must be a vip or higher for that channel). I review the submissions, and as long as you are not a potential TOS risk, I'll add Bacons Helper to the chat. I try to respond within 24 hours
How much does it cost to have Bacons Helper in my chat?
It's free. If you feel compelled to support the Bacons Helper project users can subs to my twitch channel. I may setup other methods of supporting the project if and/or when it's needed, but its not high on my list of priorities :D
Do I need to provide a token or key to use Bacons Helper?
Short Answer: No.
Long Answer: I do not want the responsibility nor stress of handling sensitive/privileged user data like tokens or keys.
Does Bacons Helper sell my data?
No, nor do I plan to in the future.
Why doesn't Bacons Helper have any features that allow chatters to use their channel points?
Because I decided early on that I was not going to use/store user tokens from the streamer, this limits what I have access to as a developer, things like channel point redemptions, changing the stream topic/title are simply not available to me use.
How many developers work on Bacons Helper?
Technically the answer its just me, but in spirit every person that has suggested something that made it to the final build should also deserve credit as their is no way I could come up with all of these amazing ideas alone.
Is there a standalone version of Bacons I can run locally?
No, I'm not opposed to the idea but I need to figure out a way to streamline the workflow in order to take on another long term project without effecting my family life <3
What is the meaning of life?
Cats, the answer is cats, definitely cats. Even if it wasn't, the answer is now cats
Why does the Auto Translator require 4 words or more?
3 or less words is simply not enough info to process, when you are trying to compare it to over 600k words just to determine intended language being spoken and would spam chat. For perspective 1 word had an avg of 96% unintended translations, 2 words had an avg of 60%, 3 words had an avg of 15%, 4 word has a avg of 1.8% unintended translations
Where does Bacons Helper get the game info for the ^similar command?
It use several resources like Internet Gaming Database (aka IGDB) a service that Twitch provides that just so happen the have data on every single game twitch has a category for, along with the RAWG API, and a personal database for the retro and obscure games
What does "‼️ Chatter, the message violates my internal filters" mean?
By default Bacons Helper will censor its self, this message means that somewhere in the interaction the text contained a word or phrase that was considered inappropriate. This can be turned off with "^set output-filtering off" - I recommend that channels that are not intended for mature audiences leave this setting enabled so Bacons Helper can't be used to get around auto-mod with its commands and translator
How do I get my spotify music to show up in chat?
For song info, channels needs to have Discord installed with both Twitch and Spotify integrations enabled and join the Bacons Helpers Discord server, once you start stream and have both discord and spotify running with playing music, Bacons Helper should be able to auto determine the discord -> twitch relationship and doing ^song should give the current song being played. If you want the track info posted in chat automatically you can enable it with "^set song-notifications on"
